Every once in a while, major corporations go a little too far to try and appear modern.
McDonald’s is the latest company to do this after they released a LGBT-themed french fry container called “gay fries.”
“McDonald’s has always been a company that has supported diversity and inclusion of its employees and extended McDonald’s family,” spokesperson Kim Knapp said in a statement, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. “We are proud to create an inclusive culture where everyone feels valued, appreciated and supported.”
“The rainbow fry boxes are a fun way to show our support of the LGBTQ community using one of McDonald’s most iconic and recognizable items,” added Cathy Martin, co-chair of the McDonald’s PRIDE Network and vice president and general manager of McDonald’s Baltimore-Washington Region, in a statement of her own, according to WTOP.
“We are proud to honor and celebrate the LGBTQ community, including our employees, customers and beyond, each and every day,” she added.

Can major companies stop trying to play politics? McDonald’s is a classic American fast-food restaurant and there is no reason for them to pick a side in the LGBT debate. What good comes from selling “gay fries?”
These types of moves are pointless and only serve to alienate their loyal Christian customers.
It is time to boycott McDonald’s and stick to wholesome Christian establishments like Chick-fil-A.
