A Canadian professor said in a lecture that it is just right for Muslims to support jihad and the establishment of a global caliphate under rule of Shariah (Islamic Law), the doctrine embraced by the radical Islamist terror group ISIS.
In her presentation, Katherine Bullock, a Lecturer in the Department of Political Science, University of Toronto at Mississauga, said that it is not “radical” for Muslims to support the establishment of Caliphate (Islamic State) or implementation of Sharia (Islamic Law). She adds that those are just “normal” Islamic perspective.
Bullock was speaking in a panel discussion on counter-radicalization in Canada. The event was organized by the Muslim Law Students Association of Osgoode and was held in York University.
Originally from Australia, Bullock embraced Islam in 1994 and now teaches political Islam from a global perspective.
Bullock’s research focuses on: “Muslims in Canada, their history, contemporary lived experiences, political and civic engagement, debates on the veil, and media representations of Islam and Muslims,” according to 100% Fed Up.
