The leftists’ disastrous “open borders” immigration policy is coming home to roost. A man who immigrated from Nigeria in the 1990s has taken advantage of the generosity of his sponsor country while his wife falsified documents to receive over $100,000 in benefits.
Law enforcement arrested the wife, Helen Agbapuruonwu, when it was discovered that she collected food stamps and Medicaid benefits between 2010 and 2016. The police said that the Arlington, Va. mother “fraudulently obtained public assistance in excess of $100,000 under false pretenses.”
Mrs. Agbapuruonwu was charged “with felony welfare fraud and document forgery,” according to a police report.
The Gateway Pundit reports:
This is just the tip of the iceberg with welfare and food stamp fraud. Immigrants aren’t even coming here to work anymore and even if they do, they still exploit our generous yet flawed welfare system. The fact that this woman was able to abuse the welfare system for 6 years undetected is shameful.
NBC News 4 reported that the husband Fidelis Agbapuruonwu, who was a beneficiary of the Paul & Daisy Soros Scholarship for New Americans when he took law school at Ohio State University, made as much as $1.5 million as a lawyer in Washington, D.C.
Right now, Mr. Agbapuruonwu is nowhere to be found, and court officials believe he may have “fled the country and is somewhere in Africa,” NBC News 4 said.
