MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow thought she had her golden ticket into the media hall of fame when she decided to release President Trump’s 2005 tax return.
Little did she know that her ratings would go straight off a cliff after releasing it.
In fact, since airing Trump’s tax return, her ratings have hit a record low. Her key demographic, 25 to 54-year-olds, has seen a viewership drop of 54 percent.
According to Geraldo Rivera, it was her “Al Capone’s Vault” moment, an incident where a mobster’s vault was opened live on television and held nothing of value.
Bill O’Reilly slammed Maddow for her decision to broadcast the tax return, calling the event a “circus of ideology and cynicism.”
In addition, it was revealed that Trump paid higher taxes than former President Barack Obama, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and Mitt Romney.
The real question is, what did she think she was accomplishing by releasing them? Can someone really be that dumb?
