Attorney General Jeff Sessions appeared on Fox News on Thursday, where he sat down for an interview with Tucker Carlson.
Sessions is currently being attacked by liberals over claims that he has ties to the Russians.
However, Sessions wanted to set the record straight and to dismiss the liberal witch hunt.
“The question that came to me from Senator Franken — he went into great length saying that that day a news story had come out and said that various Trump surrogates were meeting continually with Russian officials as part of the campaign,” Sessions explained during the interview Thursday.
“And he raised that question with me, and my answer went straight to that,” he added.
Conservative Tribune reports:
By “that question,” he meant Franken asking him how exactly he would proceed if evidence were uncovered showing that Trump’s associates had indeed been communicating with the Russian government in the course of the presidential campaign as part of their surrogate duties, as noted by Legal Insurrection.
“I”m not aware of any of those activities,” Sessions had replied. “I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign, and I did not have communications with the Russians.”
Of course, the liberals never want to talk about Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and his meetings with Putin or Hillary Clinton’s emails. Surprise, surprise!
